Our response standards

In terms of written correspondence (both letter and email) to the Police Authority, you can expect a response within two working days of receipt by us. In terms of a more complex request, our initial contact with you may be by acknowledgemnt within two days, but you should expect a full response to any query in no more than 20 working days.

In terms of requests made under the Freedom of Information Act, the Authority is required to respond to your query promptly and in any event no later than the twentieth working day following receipt. All requests made under FoI legislation will be acknowledged by return. If any costs are involved in processing your request, you will be informed before any costs are incurred. The core hours in which the Authority offices are open for public enquiries are set out below. These are the mimimum staffing hours and it is possible that your query may be answered outside these times on the contact numbers/email above.

Monday - Thursday: 8.30am - 5.00pm
Friday: 8.30am - 3.00pm
