What we do
The role of the Authority is to ensure that the policing service provided to the people of Cheshire is efficient and effective.
We do this in a number of ways. We listen to your views and comments about policing to ensure that the service meets both your expectations and demands. We receive your comments at public meetings, workshops and by questionnaire, and use what you tell us to inform the Policing Plan, which sets out the targets that the Constabulary must meet.
Our priorities this year are to continue to protect the people of Cheshire and see a further reduction in crime and fear of crime. The Chief Constable’s policing objectives for this year are:-
1 - Increase public confidence in policing
2 - Respond effectively to the public when in need
3 - Prevent and address anti-social behaviour and disorder to maintain safe and strong communities
4 – Prevent and investigate crime
5 – Protect vulnerable people
6 – Protect the public from Serious and Organised Crime and Terrorism
7 – To optimise value for money by improving efficiency and reducing costs
The focus for the Constabulary is to continue to work hard to make sure there is confidence and satisfaction in the policing service we deliver and that it responds and meets citizens’ needs.
We are grateful to the local people who have supported the Authority’s investment in recent years and for the views expressed by the public during our extensive consultation about the budget and their priorities for policing, which has helped us set these objectives for the Chief Constable.
The details and targets that support the objectives are detailed in the Policing Plan
